We are pleased to be one of the founders of the Career Forum for Intermediate Accounting students at UW-Milwaukee. The Forum is designed to provide students with information regarding various employment options that may become available as they progress through the accounting program. We participate in this event each semester.

Komisar Brady  participates in UW Milwaukee's Accounting Night and UW-Whitewater's annual accounting career fair in the fall of each year. KB staff are on hand to answer any questions you may have about the firm, life in public accounting, or any other areas. We look forward to meeting students on that evening.

RECRUITING

Recruiting takes place in September and October for placement starting in January. At that time, we will be interviewing for entry-level staff accountants, accounting interns, intake interns and tax interns. In addition to traditional full time/semester internships, flexible scheduling is also available to accommodate individual needs for interns.

STAFF ACCOUNTANT

bulletWork on a variety of traditional accounting assignments, including audits, reviews, and compilations
bulletWork on special projects, including Excel spreadsheet design, financial statement projections, cost budgets, systems analysis, and valuations
bulletPreparation of individual income tax returns during the tax season

ACCOUNTING INTERN

Our accounting interns are provided with on the job training that cannot be obtained in a classroom setting. The minimum prerequisite for this position is completion of intermediate accounting with a letter grade of B or higher. This can be a full time or part time position. The primary responsibilities include:

bulletAssisting with audit engagements
bulletAccount reconciliations
bulletConfirmation requests
bulletPreparation and maintenance of fixed asset schedules
bulletAssistance with quality control of issued financial statements
bulletOther special accounting projects

TAX INTERN

We offer tax internships during busy season to students who can commit themselves to at least 20 hours per week from the middle of January through the middle of April. This position is flexible with class scheduling. Completion of the individual tax class with a letter grade of B or higher is preferred. The primary responsibilities are:

bulletPreparation of federal, Wisconsin and other state income tax returns, including part-year and non-resident state returns
bulletPreparation of trust  tax returns
bulletCommunication with clients and their advisors
bulletResearch tax issues
bulletPreparation of personal property tax returns
bulletAssistance with quality control of assembled tax returns

INTAKE INTERN

This is a temporary position in our tax department from mid January to mid April which is ideal for the candidate who wants exposure to a public accounting environment.  The responsibilities of the position are:

Preparing files for electronic record storage

bulletAssembling incoming individual tax client information for tax return preparation
bulletReviewing completed tax returns for required components before delivery
bulletMiscellaneous projects including file management and e-filing procedures

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

We work very hard to assure that your initial transition to our firm is a smooth one. Firm members from the partner level to the staff level offer help with any questions a new hire may have.

Initial training introduces staff to different areas including our basic accounting procedures and software. Each assignment includes a contact person within the firm for on-the-job training and guidance. Ongoing opportunities for development include outside training at accredited courses and seminars as well as in-house training at our regular staff meetings.

Staff networking with business associates is also encouraged as well as introducing staff to new businesses and clients. All members of the staff are given opportunities to interact with clients on a professional level, and staff often develop continued professional relationships with clients and business associates. We believe this allows the staff members to build relationships outside the office that will help them progress in the business world.
