Andy Komisar strives to make things as simple to understand
for his clients as possible. “Everything today is so complicated,
and we therefore explain things in a fashion that everyone can
understand and use.” Andy has been a part of Komisar Brady
for most of his life, working with his father and brother whenever needed during his childhood and while attending undergraduate and law school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Andy officially joined the Firm in 1988 and has spent more than 20 years in our tax department, focusing on estate tax, retirement plan and income tax planning and compliance.
Andy works on many complex estate tax issues in planning on the front end, adapting estate plans as situations and laws change, and accounting and compliance at the time the estate is created. Similarly, Andy works closely with businesses and individuals on retirement plan design, modification and planning to effectively address individual saving needs for retirement in the most tax-favored manner. Lastly, in the income tax arena, Andy’s expertise on compliance has made him excel in proactive business and individual tax planning.

Andy serves as vice president of COA Youth and Family Centers, an inner city Milwaukee charity providing family and child programs in an effort to build a strong community in the City of Milwaukee.
PERSONAL
Andy, his wife Shannon, their two sons ages 6 and 9, and new daughter live in Whitefish Bay. He enjoys playing basketball, traveling, and attending sporting events. He likes to collect sports memorabilia with his boys, and is an avid fan on the sidelines of their games.
Andy enjoys interacting with people and not just sitting at his desk.
